The country’s average household disposable income per capita is over US $23,900, higher than the OECD average.
The capital city, Ottawa, along with cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Hamilton and Regina are some of the most populated and liveable cities in the country.
Study in Canada

Cost of Education
The costs of studying in Canada depends on the institution and the level of study you choose. The tuition fees for Canadian universities is lower than most countries especially United States.
As an international student, your tuition fees are payable before you study. There may be additional costs for your course, including course materials and access to institution facilities.
Average degree will cost you in range of $12,000 to $40,000 (in Canadian Dollar). Living expenses will vary from city to city. For instance Toronto, Vancouver are more expensive compared to Victoria and Edmonton is cheaper than both. Monthly expense can run to $1500-$2000 depending on the lifestyle and host city.
Study Application
Main intake for colleges and universities is in the months of September(fall) and a few colleges offer January(Winter) intakes.
Complete college application procedure could take more than 8 months in total. Therefore it is ideal to start preparing application an year beforehand and apply as soon as universities start accepting intake applications.
There is a host of documentation required to apply to universities depending on the course and the level you opt for.
Documents mainly required but not limited to are — resume, statement of purpose, marksheets, and passing certificates from the 10th standard onwards. The student must also provide two reference letters from their last college and/or employer along with a copy of their passport and birth certificate. For post graduate courses a degree, of three years or more, from a recognised university is mandatory.
A minimum score of 6 to 6.5 for IELTS(Academic) / above 80 score in TOEFL is usually required for for undergraduate courses. For postgraduate courses IELTS score of 6.5 to 7 / above 90 score in TOEFL is generally mandated.

Visa Application
The Canadian study permit is required for enrolling in educational programs. The study permit is similar to student visa for courses with duration less than 6 months. For courses with longer duration than that you will require to apply for student visa.
Student visa also lets you work part-time on uni campuses as an intern for your program or otherwise. You can work part-time off campus well.

Scholarships
There are many scholarships and grants which can help support you financially with your studies in Canada. They are offered by the Canadian Government, education institutions, and a number of other public and private organization.
Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan −− This scheme identifies students with high intellect from Commonwealth countries applying to programs of advanced study and research at the Master and PhD level. The award comprises travel, living allowance and the compulsory tuition fees.
Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program −− It is applicable for graduate students in a wide variety of disciplines. As a prerequisite to applying, students must accept an offer from a university in Ontario and obtain a valid study permit.
National Research Council of Canada (NRCC) −− Research associateship is offered to master degree holders in engineering and PhD holders in natural science or engineering disciplines.
Quebec Provincial Government Scholarship −− It is applicable for students studying in Quebec. It entails financial assistance to students at master’s level or above. Each application is assessed on its own merit.
Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute −− Offers various fellowships at different levels from graduate to post-doctorate and from research to training fellowships.
